Continuing Education, 1977

This image shows a man and a woman looking at a loom in the Division of Continuing Education at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in July 1977. The Continuing Education Division was located in University Hall after it was completed in 1983. Although not offering degrees, the Division offered workshops, clinics, camps, and started an Elderhostel program for adults over 60 in 1976. It became the Division of Educational Outreach and Summer Programs in 2008, and includes the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center, built 1972, the Office of Conferences and Institutes, the Office of Extension and Distance Education, and the Office of Summer Sessions and Professional Development. It manages camps, workshops, clinics, conferences, and Camp Broadstone.
