Description

This image shows students Chris Curtis and Allen Taylor painting a model of a Tyrannasarus Rex in the Division of Continuing Education at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in April 1980. The Continuing Education Division was located in University Hall after it was completed in 1983. Although not offering degrees, the Division offered workshops, clinics, camps, and started an Elderhostel program for adults over 60 in 1976. It became the Division of Educational Outreach and Summer Programs in 2008, and includes the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center, built 1972, the Office of Conferences and Institutes, the Office of Extension and Distance Education, and the Office of Summer Sessions and Professional Development.
